Sandhill Crane Watcher's Special 

Every Spring they come... A half million Sandhill Cranes!  Some of the best Crane viewing areas are just 10 minutes north of the Pioneer Village.  Watch the Cranes in the early morning, rest and relax among the 50,000 historic items in the Pioneer Village during the afternoon and return to see the Cranes gather at sunset, a perfect day. We are offering a special package that includes two 2 day admission tickets to the Pioneer Village and one night in a spacious, comfortable room at the Pioneer Motel for only $44.95  per person double occupancy + tax.  Call for details.

Youth from the Educational Service Unit #11 area gather at the Pioneer Village to present their unique and original inventions to a panel of Judges and the public for an opportunity to win.

Fiber Fun Day

The Prairie Fibers Weavers and Spinners Guild artisans will be demonstrating various fiber arts to honor the memory of Lois Nelson, a founding member of the Guild, who shared her love of the fiber arts with others by teaching and demonstrating spinning and weaving at the Pioneer Village for more than 40 years. Spinning, weaving and the use of natural dyes are some of the activities the Guild with be demonstrating from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Pioneer Village Days

Celebrating our 61st year.  We will feature the Prairie Fibers Weavers and Spinners Guild on Saturday with an array of fiber arts including spinning, weaving and dyeing with natural dyes.

Nebraska Antique Airplane Association Fly-in

Antique and not so antique airplanes gather at Pioneer Village Field in MInden for 2 days of fun.  Historic Stearmans, Wacos, Cessnas, Taylorcraft, Pipers and Luscombes to name just a few are parked alongside modern Beachcraft, Mooneys and experimental aircraft.

24th annual Bandfest.  High School and Junior High School bands from around the region compete in street marching and field marching.
